The rules for using Poople. Plain English, no surprises.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or playing Poople (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Poople is a free, browser-based word ladder game. We offer a Daily puzzle, an Unlimited mode, and an archive of past answers. The Service is provided "as is" without any guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use Poople for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You will not:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or attack the Service or its infrastructure.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the puzzle schedule, word list, or solutions for commercial purposes without permission.
- Use automated tools to generate fake stats, streaks, or shares.
- Reverse engineer the Service in ways that violate applicable law.
4. Intellectual property
The Poople name, branding, puzzle design, code, and content are owned by us. You may share your individual game results (the share text, screenshots) freely on social media and elsewhere. You may not republish substantial portions of the puzzle archive without written permission.
5. User content
If you contact us with feedback or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Service. We will not publicly attribute your message without your consent.
6. Local storage
Poople stores your game state and stats in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device — we do not collect or upload it. Clearing your browser storage will reset your streak and stats.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that puzzles will always be solvable through the displayed shortest path.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
